It's the year to be counted, so let's count birds too! The Great Backyard Bird Count is a free, fun, and easy activity that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes on one or more days of the four-day event (Feb. 14-17) in their own backyard, at a park, or anywhere! So grab those binoculars and report your sightings online at http://gbbc.birdcount.org/. Print out your checklist and bring to the library no later than Feb. 19 to receive a small prize and a chance to win a bird-themed basket!
