The Love Sharpener (Black History Mo.)

All Day
Lafayette

Description

Over a century ago, John Lee Love invented a portable pencil sharpener that captured the shavings - the most convenient design we use today. Make your own matchbox “book” sharpener modeled after Love’s innovation. Craft supplies available to take home in the Lafayette Lib. Teen Center on Tues. 2/22.

On your Feb. visits, check out "30 Days of Black Innovators" (let’s pretend February has 30 days) in the Teen Center for spotlights on more Black inventors, tinkerers, and researchers who changed and are changing the world.
