Please join us for this talk with Ingrid Rojas Contreras about her newest book, The Man Who Could Move Clouds.

Ingrid’s maternal grandfather was a renowned curandero, a community healer gifted with “the secrets:” the power to talk to the dead, tell the future, treat the sick, and move the clouds. This dazzling memoir interweaves family stories and resurrected Colombian history to reckon with her family’s otherworldly legacy – magic.

Ingrid Rojas Contreras was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Her memoir, The Man Who Could Move Clouds, was named a “Best Book of Summer” by TIME. Her first novel, Fruit of the Drunken Tree, was the silver medal winner in First Fiction from the CA Book Awards and a NYT Editors Choice.

Doors will open at 6:45 for guests to enjoy coffee and sweets. Orinda Books will be onsite for book sales. This event is in person only, and will not be recorded or offered on Zoom.
