Teen Summer Volunteering Recruitment and Orientation

Description

The Orinda Library is looking for motivated teen volunteers for the summer! Join our volunteer team, help your community, earn community service credit, and gain valuable work experience! We will be offering brief interviews throughout the month of April due to high interest, with the orientation following in May for selected volunteers.

Volunteers must submit an inquiry form for Orinda to be considered. Form can be found via the ccclib website at:

The orientation meeting is required & space is limited. Please be sure to register via the volunteer interest form, and an application will be emailed to you following confirmation by staff. Registration will close when full or by May 10.

  • Expected Commitment Dates
    • June 2 to August 2
  • Expected Time Commitment
    • Minimum of 20 hours (2+ hours/week)
  • Example of Duties
    • Explain Summer Reading to participants
    • Assist with special events
    • Light cleaning & help prepare crafts
    • Track supplies & award prizes to participants
  • Qualifications and Skills:
    • Ability to give enthusiastic customer service
    • Ability to take directions and follow them accurately
    • Dependable, independent, and timely
    • Entering 8th grade to 12th grade
