Healthy Tuesdays at the Library - Chair Yoga with guest instructor Pallavi.
Recharge Your Body & Mind – One Breath at a Time
Step away from your desk and onto the mat! Starting in September, the library offers a free wellness session for adults on Tuesdays at lunchtime — featuring Yoga and Tai Chi on alternating weeks. All levels welcome – no registration required.
Weekly Schedule:
1st Tuesday: Wellness Yoga. This class is designed for adults of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. We'll explore foundational yoga poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices to help you build strength, increase flexibility, and reduce stress. Each session aims to leave you feeling refreshed, centered, and more connected to your body. Come as you are and discover the transformative power of yoga in a supportive and welcoming environment. Bring your yoga mat; a towel, blanket, or cushion is optional for added comfort.
2nd and 4th Tuesdays: Tai Chi. In these classes, participants will learn the foundations of Tai Chi movement, the gentle and energizing Eight Brocades Qi Gong, the graceful Yang-style 24 Form, the powerful Chen-style 18 and 74 Forms, and the dynamic Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan routine. Tai Chi is a low-impact aerobic exercise known for improving balance, flexibility, and overall well-being. Whether you’re new to Tai Chi or looking to deepen your practice, this is a wonderful opportunity to improve your health in a calm, welcoming environment.
3rd Tuesday: Chair Yoga. Perfect for those who prefer or require seated support, our Chair Yoga class offers all the benefits of traditional yoga in a gentle and accessible format. We'll use the chair for stability and assistance while exploring stretches, movements, and breathing exercises that improve flexibility, circulation, and balance. This class is ideal for seniors, individuals with limited mobility, or anyone looking for a softer approach to their yoga practice. Join us to experience the joy of movement and relaxation!
5th Tuesday: When there is a 5th Tuesday of the month, check our website to see what's happening.
What to bring: Be sure to wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat (for yoga classes) along with a water bottle.
