Homeschool Science Fair

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Hercules

Description

If you love Science, the Homeschool Science Fair is the place for you! Open to grades K-12, Homeschool students are invited to present a science project to other families and a panel of your librarians. Ask us for a Science Fair Information Packet for further details and directions.

Science Fair set up begins at 12:00pm, and presentations start at 1:00pm.

Registration required.

Some Guidelines and Considerations:

Using the scientific method is very important when conducting experiments! Take a second to consider the scientific method when thinking up ideas for your project and be sure to include it in your presentation.

All projects need to be picked up and taken home the day of the Science Fair.

Science Fair Rules

1. Adults can help, in fact we want them to help! They can help gather materials, supervise your experiment and even help build the display. However, the student should be the only one giving the presentation.

2. Displays must be on display boards or poster boards (maximum size: 36" tall by 48" wide). They must stand alone. Hercules Library has poster boards to share, just ask staff if you need one.

3. Please try to limit your presentation to less than 5 minutes. This will allow time to hear from all our students and for folks to ask a few questions.

4. All projects and experiments need to be safe for you and the library.

5. Presentations should not include demonstrations of the experiment, but rather just a summary of your process and findings.

There will be pictures taken during the Homeschool Science Fair by library staff. These will be shared on the Hercules Library’s social media pages. Please inform library staff if you do not want your picture taken.
