Only Humans Need Apply
Winners and Losers in the Age of Smart Machines
Book - 2016 | First edition.
"In Only Humans Need Apply, Thomas Hayes Davenport and Julia Kirby reframe the conversation about automation, arguing that the future of increased productivity and business success isn't either human or machine. It's both. The key is augmentation, utilizing technology to help humans work better, smarter, and faster. Instead of viewing these machines as competitive interlopers, we can see them as partners and collaborators in creative problem solving as we move into the next era. The choice is ours,"--Amazon.com.

Add a CommentInteresting reading on how we should focus on workers augmentation instead of replacement. The five approaches to augmentation (stepping up/in/forward/aside/narrowly) are a likely good representation of our options today. Some of the content is already a little dated, proving that things change very quickly for AI in the workplace.
Contrary to many voices fearing AI advances, this book reflect only on the positive future for AI, and how we humans decide of what happens next.
