Add a CommentThis is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. The main character is dynamic, talented, and a selfless role-model. I liked it so much I watched it twice by myself and made a friend watch it. I like that there are enough similarities to our reality to make it relatable while still plenty of fantasy elements to keep you captivated. Very good film for adults and children.
If you can find the books, they are fascinating!!! (it's a graphic novel series by Hayao Miyazaki that shows a wider and more detailed world/story than the movie version)
Nice movie
Correction: 風の谷のナウシカ - Nausicaä of the valley of the wind
Miyasaki wrote such a realistically strong and intelligent female character. The plot (focusing on how to balance relying and living with nature to ensure it continues for future generations) and animation are smooth and I will never tire of this film. Honestly, I think this is a film worth watching in middle schools as well as high schools.
Three kingdoms, a bunch of giant killer bugs, a deathly jungle - these are the setting for a tale of environmental degradation and the redeeming power of love. The mythic structure is fascinating to watch even though the facts are asserted a bit awkwardly in the development of the plot.
Not for me. I would think this animation was meant for 5 years and younger but the subject matter is that of war. So it is almost a conflict in itself between the targeted audience and the subject matter.
This movie is about WAR - the heroine is a cute anime princess but that doesn't stop it from being an over-the-top 2 hour bloodbath
This film is one of Studio Ghibli's earlier works, and remains one of my all-time favourite from this studio. Animation is top-notch, and the depiction of flight scenes very well done. I will watch it again down the road for sure.
SUPER EEPPIIICCCCCC!!!!!!!
