I think I might have liked this book a little more if it had tried to stay more focused on one particular idea or character. On the one hand, you have a little girl pursuing her love of space and desire to be an astronaut. On the other, you have the older brother who isn't engaging with her because he's too absorbed in his phone. If the focus is supposed to be on the girl, it hardly gives her enough attention to justify her perspective. If the focus is on the brother, though, as the book's title suggests, I fail to see this book doing much good since no inattentive teen brother would ever read this.
I loved the illustrations in this book, especially the facial expressions on the different characters. I loved Rocket's fabulous 'do! I loved that Rocket's mom encouraged her curiousity & love space. I loved the different scientific facts shared in the book like did you know meteors are bits of dust burning up in the atmosphere?
