From 1958 to 1963, American actor Rick Dalton knew the height of fame and fortune as the lead in the television series Bounty Law. Yet, Rick wasn't satisfied with the work and used his popularity to try to become a movie star. By 1969, Rick's career has stalled so much that he takes jobs as a guest star on various shows. He even starts wondering if the only way he can make a comeback is by acting in Italian productions. Cliff Booth, Rick's long-time friend and stunt double, helps him see that possibilities for success still exist in the Los Angeles film industry if they work together.

This movie turns out to be a WHAT IF. What if the manson crazies had run into these guys instead of Sharon Tate?

Just another exceptional effort from the extremely talented, Tarantino!...

Makes me miss the L.A. of my childhood (i.e. 'El Coyote')...

Pitt, DiCaprio and a grand, ensemble cast, are absolutely fabulous!...

Clearly not on the same immensely creative level as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs but, pretty much as good as his other (better) movies...

Not a good day for the Manson-family re: revisionist-history (see 'Inglourious Basterds' too)...

As I watched the film into the last part, I naturally expected the infamous Charles Manson incident.
But the film showed a different fictionalized version. In any case, I enjoyed this entertaining piece.

The acting of Pitt and Leo are spectacular. All the characters are very interesting. The movie is 2 hours and 48 minutes long but you Don't feel it. Very cool also all the "easter eggs" and references. Another phenomenal thing is the Scenography, Tarantino shows a '60 Hollywood and it's awesome, all the details are fantastic. Absolutely one of the best Tarantino movies.

Watched this film for about 30 minutes - kept waiting for it to get better. Absolutely boring. So many other amazing films available to be seen; did not want to waste my time on this one.

Tarantino misfires -- literally loses the plot. Not even an A-list of Hollywood talent could save this turkey.

Like a modern-day fairytale...

Wishful thinking, Mr. Tarantino.

A Tarantino classic. The real star of this film has to be the Cadillac Coupe with Brad and Leonardo running a close second. A+++

Bruce Lee: You're the one with the big mouth, and I would really enjoy closing it, especially in front of all my friends. But my hands are registered as lethal weapons. That means, we get into a fight, I accidentally kill you? I go to jail.

Cliff Booth: Anybody accidentally kills anybody in a fight, they go to jail. It's called manslaughter. I think all that lethal weapon horseshit is just an excuse so you dancers never have to get in a real fight.

46 quotes posted in IMDb already. Thanks to its contributors. The best lines come from the brilliant little woman Trudi Fraser (Julia Butters):

I believe it's the job of an actor - and I say actor, not actress because the word actress is nonsensical - it's the actor's job to avoid impediments to their performance. It's the actor's job to strive for one hundred percent effectiveness. Naturally, we never succeed, but it's the pursuit..that's meaningful.
===
That was the best acting I've ever seen in my whole life.
-Thank you.

I don't like names like 'Pumpkin Puss'... but since you're upset, we'll talk about it some other time.

***If you want more of the wise-beyond-her-years Trudi, watch one of the deleted scenes when Trudi welcomes her two step-brothers (Timothy Olyphant as James Stacy and Luke Perry as Wayne Maunder) who have just ridden in town from a wagon.
