Add a CommentThe simple heart-felt text of Francisco Jimenez and the vibrantly warm illustrations of Simon Silva make for a pleasant mix of introduction to field work lifestyle and childhood resolution of language difficulties. This would be an excellent way for adults to introduce their child to second language problems and would help promote understanding and sensitivity to other children’s culture and challenges. The drawing of the Mariposa (Butterfly) developing from a cocoon is sensitively drawn. The one page Glossary at the end of the book introduces children to Mexican phrases and language.
