Story arcs go nowhere (why is the missing convenience store even introduced, where did Sarah go on her 2 hour walk)? Essentially almost 500 pages of waiting for something to happen.
Exquisite character study of 8 family members who vacation together one last time at their lakefront summer cottage. A good fit for fans of Richard Russo and Anne Tyler.
