A delightful classic!
One of best most beloved children's books. I translated it to my native language and tell it at my Story Times quite often. Always a hit!
The book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” is by Eric Carle. This is a very popular book for children and it is great for read alouds or storytimes. The author and illustrator Eric Carle is an award-winning person for children’s picture books. His work is outstanding. The best thing about this book is that it has a lesson in it which lets the reader become knowledgeable about caterpillars. After reading this book children know that over time a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, basically the lifecycle of it. I recommend this book called “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” to children who are about 2-5 years old, but age doesn’t quite matter if you are interested in reading the book. 5/5 rating - @TheBookieReadingMonster, a Teen Review Board volunteer at the Hamilton Public Library.
I have very fond memories of reading this book with my mom when I was younger. It is still one of my favourite children’s book of all time! There are a lot of pictures, which are great for little kids who can’t read yet, or are learning how. There are also a lot of everyday vocabulary words to learn! Eric Carle did a great job at telling a fun and simple story about a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, making this book a classic bed-time story. I would highly recommend this book, especially for little kids! I think that they will fall in love with it! @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
As an avid reader of children books from the time I was a kid to even now as a young adult, The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a well-deserved classic and an amazing story. Author Eric Carle’s simple and amusing plot takes you along the journey as the caterpillar blossoms into a beautiful butterfly. This is the perfect book for young children learning or teenagers in a nostalgic mood. I really do think The Very Hungry Caterpillar is beautifully illustrated, written, and a great read regardless of your age. 3.7 out of 5.

best book forever!!! we read this book for 2 years and every time it is so amazing!
I picked up this book for some of my students! They really loved it as much as I did as a child! This book is great for teaching about caterpillars and butterflies, numbers, and foods. The kids love the different length pages and the holes! Really fun!
My favourite book as a kid- it's a classic!
My two year old adores this book. We get him to identify all the foods the very hungry caterpillar eats on Saturday, and he always beats us to exclaiming that it turns into "a beautiful butterfly!"
This classic still holds up!
