Add a CommentThis book uses the word "ass" for a donkey...if that bothers you this book isn't for you. Also i didn't find it quite that evoking of emotion as many of these lovely nativity stories are. It was a bit blah to be honest. The illustrations are kind of boring too. There are better ones out there but if you want a bunch of Christmas stories around for the kids it'll do the job.
It's a Christmas version of "Big Red Barn". Quite lovely and delightful to read aloud.
Barbara Cooney's lovely illustrations can't save this failed poem that inventories the farm animals present at the Nativity of Jesus.
