What Light by Jay Dasher is you're typical YA holiday romance. From being full of clichés and to being brutally predictable, this book has it all. One major thing this book lacks is likable characters. Of course Sierra is SO pretty that guys are literally sabotaging her relationship after being rejected by her. Sierra's friends are no better, acting more like 10 year old children rather than almost high school seniors. I mean, who pressures their best friend to find a boy, gets mad when they don't spend enough time with them, and doesn't trust them to make their own decisions! Caleb is a whole different story. I get that he didn't stab anyone, but who stabs their sister's door repeatedly! (That whole thing was glossed over pretty quickly) They only knew each other for five minutes! The only reason I'm not giving this book one star is because they kept shoving Christmas in front of my face that I actually felt the need to get a cup of hot chocolate. 2 Stars @Ruby_Tuesday of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Pubic Library
Sierra spends every Christmas season in California so that her parents can work at their family Christmas tree lot. This year is different; Sierra meets Caleb a local guy buying her trees so that he can give them away to families who can’t afford their own. But Caleb has a past that he can’t escape. Will Sierra be able to overcome his past mistakes to let them have a future together?
I picked up this book because I really like the author and although this is a totally different genre from his first, it's still an amazing read for the Christmas season. It’s a really cute and light hearted story that's great for this time of year! I really enjoyed it. Rating 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Two hearts, slowly unravelling and opening up to one another. This is the story of Caleb and Sierra, two teens troubled by various problems. Sierra's family is stressed about their tree lot, especially since they may not be able to return to it for another Christmas the next year. Caleb is a boy with a lot of baggage, who catches Sierra's heart from his first visit for a Christmas tree. The two are literally perfect for each other, but so much stands in the way that readers will find their hearts beating in sync with the book. Can love conquer all? Truly a book that is more than some "cute Christmassy theme". 5/5 stars
