I loved this movie more than I thought I would. For some weird reason, I've often understood movies based on non-linear time better than normal ones, and this had plenty of that. I had a pretty good understanding of the storyline the first time I watched it, but I would recommend watching twice anyways just so you can get all the details. As an important disclaimer, this is not an action movie, so if that's what you're looking for, I highly recommend Battle: Los Angeles. This movie is meant to invoke thought and understanding and give a new perspective to life and the world as we know it, as the ways of these visitors are about as alien (pardon the pun) to humanity as you can find in any movie. It highlights the importance of language and understanding to, or between, civilizations in a way I've never considered. For any other hardcore Star Trek fans out there who would like an idea of what they're getting into, this is kind of like the Darmok episode of Next Gen, combined with parts of the pilot episode of Deep Space Nine.
