The graphic novels are wonderful & I love them. This novel attempts to continue to tell stories about the Lumberjanes in the same whimsical manner, but it just falls a bit flat. Instead of playful, it comes across a bit more juvenile. It just didn't capture my interest like the graphic novels. I think kids would enjoy these, but I think I'll skip the others in this series.
The Lumberjanes discover a herd of unicorns grazing next to a gigantic mountain, the top of which cannot be seen. April is adamant about conquering it so she can earn a badge, but she & the rest of the Lumberjanes neglect to read the weathered signs that warn of danger. The mountain disappears, stranding the group above the clouds.
I did love this quote:
"...Ripley, shooting up into the air and pointing over April's shoulder, screamed probably one of the top ten words a person can possibly scream.
UNICORN!!!!"
