One of the things that made me love the Wings of Fire series in the first place was the fact that the characters were all dragons, without those pesky humans hogging the spotlight. Too often I'd see a book that was supposedly about dragons, but it was really more about the human who bonded with/saved/fought/rode the dragon. Wings of Fire was so refreshing in that regard. So when I heard this book was coming out and would star humans I wasn't that enthusiastic. I needn't have worried. I'm happy to report that Dragonslayer was a fantastic read that added a lot of depth to the world of WoF, and although I still prefer the dragons themselves, I look forward to the further adventures of these human characters, too.
