Both humble and bold: many of the key inferences that he makes are based on solid evidence and then as the inferences like that pile up he gets a little more speculative. The key idea is that the Earth is most likely to heat up, which is bad for life, but that electronic AI life will flourish with a new kind of symbiosis for the rest of history. This new age he calls the Novacene and he opines that it might last only 100 years. Its rather informally written, and poorly edited (he makes mention of the Permian extinction (approx. 250 mya) being caused by an asteroid of the end cretaceous (65 mya), confusing the two), no notes, no bibliography.
