Dragon Egg Quest

This summer, the dragon from our Summer Reading program has taken off… And left magical eggs hidden all over Pittsburg!

From July 7 to August 2, 2025, we’ll hide a new dragon egg each week in a public spot around the city.

Can you find them all?

📍 Eggs might be hidden in parks, plazas, or even inside the Pittsburg Library!
🥚 When you find one, snap a photo and bring the egg and the note inside to the library to claim your dragon.
✨ Some eggs include special prizes to help you complete your Summer Reading Passport and level up even more!

This Week’s Dragon Clue Has Arrived! The Keeper of the Dragon has spoken… Two magical eggs have slipped away into the heart of Pittsburg, and we need two brave adventurers to help recover them. Are you ready?

𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙚 #1:𝘼 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢-𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙚𝙜𝙜, 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙋𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙨𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜’𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙡-𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩. 𝙃𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮.

𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙚 #2: 𝘼 𝙨𝙠𝙮-𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙚𝙜𝙜, 𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢, 𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚—𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙖𝙭𝙤𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.Tip: Located in the same area as Clue #1.

Once you find your egg, bring it to the Pittsburg Library to claim your reward and adopt a dragon.

Important: 

• To receive a dragon, participants must return the egg.
• This week, only new seekers may participate. If you’ve already found one, your dragon duty is done.

Level Up at the Library! You still have three weeks to join the fun! All ages can participate and sign up (if you haven’t already) through Beanstack or by using paper passports, available at the front desk. The last day is August 2, 2025! Participants who return their completed Summer Reading passports will receive a free book, a special edition pin, and a chance to enter a drawing for fun prizes!
