Tech Help (Lafayette Library)

Tackle your technology troubles! Schedule a 30-min one-on-one appointment with a Tech Helper at the Lafayette Library. Feel free to bring your own device (tablet, phone, or laptop) or use a library PC. Please call the Lafayette Library or stop by the info desk to schedule an appointment. When you arrive for your first session, please check with staff at the desk to review & sign a Tech Help Agreement. Drop-ins welcome if spots are open.
Our Tech Helpers can help with:
- Basic web searching
- e-books & e-readers
- Printing/copying
- Saving & attaching files
- Navigating Contra Costa County Library website
- Libby, Kanopy, Flipster, and other digital library resources
- Microsoft Office & Google Suite
- Emailing
- General computer/technology questions
Please note that Tech Helpers cannot:
- Repair devices
- Install hardware, software, or program updates on devices
- Provide word processing services (e.g., typing letters, preparing/formatting documents)
- Provide private lessons or accept payment of any kind
- Recommend products for purchase
- Provide online shopping services or place online ads
- Serve as personal research assistants
