AI: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
This webinar will have simultaneous Spanish interpretation.
AI: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is a practical, no-nonsense webinar on how artificial intelligence is already shaping education, government, work, and civic life. We’ll cover the good—real gains in efficiency, access, and problem-solving. We’ll examine the bad—bias, job disruption, data misuse, and uneven benefits. And we’ll confront the ugly—deepfakes, misinformation, surveillance, and erosion of public trust. This session is designed for community members who want clear explanations, real examples, and grounded discussion.
David Evan Harris will be our main speaker and will be interviewed by Professor Nolan Higdon. Professor Harris is a Chancellor’s Public Scholar at UC Berkeley and a continuing lecturer at the Haas School of Business.
Dr. Nolan Higdon is a founding member of the Critical Media Literacy Conference of the Americas, Project Censored National Judge, author, and lecturer at Diablo Valley College and at University of California, Santa Cruz.
