Comics Contest for Teens & TweensIn Progress
Calling all young cartoonists, artists, and writers! We are hosting a comics contest for teens and tweens at the Danville Public Library. Grab an entry form at the front desk or call us for more information.
Each participant will receive a free gift. Two winners (one teen and one tween) will receive a main prize bundle including:
- A copy of Making Comics by Lynda Barry
- A sketchbook
- POSCA markers
- A Smiski blind box
- Free entry to the Cartoon Art Museum
- and more!!!
To join the contest:
Bring your entry to the front desk at the Danville Library by 6:00pm on May 9, 2026. You can grab an entry form at the front desk.

Submission Guidelines:
- 3-10 comics pages. Can be comic strips or an excerpt of a longer story.
- Open to tweens and teens, 5th-12th grade.
- Must be the original work of the submitting author. No copyrighted material and no AI.
- Open to all subjects and themes that are library appropriate.
- One entry per participant. Teams can work together to submit a single entry.
Age Range and Prizes:
We will choose one winner from each age group.
- Tweens: 5th – 8th grade
- Teens: 9th – 12th grade
Entries will be judged on overall creativity, writing and illustrations by Danville library staff.
